Privacy Policy

Plain language first: we collect the minimum we need to match you into a Circle, we never sell your data, we never show your Friends profile on the dating side of NexSpark, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.

If you got here from a seating link at somebody's event, you want Tables events below, that section covers everything we hold about a guest.

What we collect when you answer

When you answer the friendship questions, we collect your answers, your ZIP or postal code (to build your Circle from people near you), and, if you create an account, your email address. We use these to match you into a Circle and to decide which areas to open next.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address along with the approximate location (country, region, and city) and the IP address of the signup. We use this to send the updates you asked for and to understand where interest is coming from. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.

What we'll collect when Circles launch

• Assessment answers and your resulting profile, temperament, interests, pace of life, friendship style. Used only for matching you into a Circle and improving your matches.
• Your approximate location, the part of town you're based in (a neighborhood-level area, never a precise address or live location). We use it to build Circles near you. And when you ask to be a guest in a Circle away from home, your home area is shared with the prospective Circles you're proposed to, so they can decide whether to host your visit. By requesting to guest, you agree to that sharing.
• Circle activity you choose to share. RSVPs, availability, post-meetup feedback. Feedback about who you clicked with is revealed only when it's mutual.
• Consent-first profile updates, when our system learns something about your preferences (say, that you prefer weekend mornings), it asks before keeping it. Every learned detail is visible to you and reversible.

Identity verification

Before joining a Circle, every member completes a free identity check with our dedicated verification provider. The provider processes your ID document and confirms to us that you're a real, unique person. We receive the confirmation, not a copy of your documents. Verification is required once, only at the point of joining a Circle, browsing, the assessment, and your archetype are open without it.

Magnetism program data

NexSpark Magnetism is an optional, guided self-help program inside Friends. If you enroll, we collect what the program needs to run for you: your day-by-day progress, the predictions and outcomes you log, your Courage Ladder items, behavioral-experiment notes, and any reflections you write. If you use the Relationship Garden, it stores an alias you choose, never a real name, and we never import your contacts.

• It stays walled off from matching, the same way Tables does. Magnetism data is never used to match you into a Circle, never shown to other members, and never joined to your Circle activity.
• Optional AI features. If NexSpark offers an in-app AI companion for Magnetism, it processes your program data under this policy, like everything else here. Separately, if NexSpark offers the option to connect your own external AI assistant (one you already use elsewhere) to Magnetism, that connection would be off by default, entirely your choice, and reversible at any time — and data you share through it would be processed by that outside provider under its own terms, not just ours.
• Not a crisis service. Magnetism is educational self-help, not therapy or medical care, and it isn't equipped to respond to a crisis. If you're in crisis or thinking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.
• You can ask us to export or delete just your Magnetism data, separately from the rest of your account, at any time: email hello@nexspark.com.

Tables events

NexSpark Tables seats people at an event. Most of the people it touches are not NexSpark members and never will be, so it collects as little as a seating chart can run on.

• If you are a guest: the first name you type, your answers to the short set of compatibility questions the host chose, and an email address only if you decide to give one. We use them to put you at a table at that event, and to show your first name and table to the host and the people seated with you.
• Your email is optional and does two things, each only if you ask. It lets us send you your own table link, and, if you tick the box, it lets us send you one message about NexSpark Friends after the event is over. One. Nothing follows it unless you choose to join.
• Door check-in. If the host checks guests in at the door, we record that you arrived and when. Your pass carries a short code that means nothing outside that event.
• If you happen to be signed in to a NexSpark account, the event is linked to it so you can find it from another device. Signing in is never required. Your Tables answers stay with that event: they do not become part of your Friends profile and they are not used to match you into a Circle.
• If you are a host: your email address, the event's name and date, and the seating you build. We use them to run the event, to send you your dashboard link, and to email you about that event.
• Invitation lists. When a host asks us to email invitations, we send them and keep those addresses as part of the event. The host is the one who decides who gets invited and confirms they had permission to invite them (Terms, section 7).
• The wall holds here too. Tables data is never shown on, or matched against, the NexSpark dating product.

Guest information belongs to the event it was given to. We do not add Tables guests to any mailing list, and a host cannot use us to email their guests about anything except that event.

What we never do

• We never sell or rent your personal data. To anyone. This is not a data business.
• Your Friends profile is never visible on, or matched against, the NexSpark dating product. The two systems are separated by design.
• No advertising trackers and no ad targeting on this site.
• We never post anything anywhere on your behalf.
• Your Magnetism program data (reflections, Courage Ladder, experiments) is never used to match you into a Circle or shown to other members.

Who we share data with

Only service providers who help us run the product: web hosting and delivery (Cloudflare), email delivery, privacy-respecting product analytics, and the identity-verification provider described above. Each receives only what its job requires. We'll disclose data if the law genuinely compels us to, and we'll tell you unless we're legally barred from doing so. If NexSpark Magnetism's AI features are enabled, an AI model provider is also involved in processing what you send it — see "Magnetism program data" above for how that works.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while you have an account or profile with us. Email hello@nexspark.com from your registered address and we'll delete your data within 30 days, verification confirmation included. Some minimal records may persist in backups for a limited period before rotating out.

Tables events. An event's data, guests, answers, seating, and check-ins, is kept while the event is live and afterwards so the host can look back at it. A host can have an event deleted at any time by emailing us from the host address on it, and we delete the event and everything in it. A guest can ask us to remove their own row: email hello@nexspark.com with the event and the name you used. Some minimal records may persist in backups for a limited period before rotating out.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it at any time using the email above, whatever your state of residence. We don't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Age

NexSpark Friends is for people 18 and older. This includes NexSpark Magnetism, which has no separate, lower age threshold. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we learn we have.

Tables events are the same 18, by a different route. A Tables event is somebody's wedding or dinner, so the room is whoever the host invited and often includes children. They are welcome there; what they don't do is sign themselves up. Joining through the link is for people 18 and older, and the questions are written that way. A host seating anyone under 18 adds them by name only, with no email address and nothing answered, which means we hold nothing about them beyond a first name on a seating chart. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through Tables, and we delete it if we learn we have.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll email members before it takes effect, not after, and Tables hosts at the email on file for their event.
